National Can-It-Forward Day: August 13,
2011
"Canning Across America (CAA) is a nationwide, ad
hoc collective of cooks, gardeners and food lovers committed to
the revival of the lost art of “putting up” food. Our goal is to
promote safe food preservation and. the joys of community
building through food. We believe in celebrating the bounty of
local and seasonal produce and taking greater control of our food
supply. Together, we can." CAA website
At Knutson's Country Harvest we have
fresh, local produce that would be great to help you celebrate this
National holiday! We also have jams, jellies, pickles, and pies that
we have already "put up" for you. (If you don't have the time to
can yourself!)
Check out this website: http://www.mrswheelbarrow.com/2011/07/national-can-it-forward-day-quickles-and-a-giveaway/ for a great way to get started in your canning
endeavor. What are you waiting for?
Height of
Harvest Come out to KCH for the Height of Harvest! In season
right now we have: Cucumbers, Herbs, Melons (Watermelon,
cantaloupe, honeydew) Onions, Tomatoes (10 Varieties! some are
heirloom too!) Zucchini (and yellow summer squash)
Also,
we have already harvested Peaches, and Blueberries and early

Bring the kids out for a day in the country, pack a
lunch and enjoy a little sunshine and fresh air. Lets go picking
at Knuston's!
Please note that the produce available is on a
first come first serve basis.
A Day of Healthy Living As
school days are quickly approaching we need to remember
the wonderful natural nurishment that is around us. Let us help
you keep that healthful food frenzy alive through the school
year. We are all concerned about eating healthy, but who has the
time?! Come join Knutson's Country Harvest on Saturday August 13th
for a day of healthy living. We will show you how to make healthy
food choices, make super snacks packed with protein and "almost"
guilt free deserts. (You can't be good all the time when peaches are
in season!) Also during the course of the day Krista, from
Intended Naturals, is going to show us how to live life the
natural way with a demonstration on healthy, natural body care,
making and using your own natural cleaners, and other pure life
products.
